Lavender, bees and other insects!

It is a while since I last updated you on my garden. I have been very busy with all sorts of landscaping and planting since the spring and The Bee Friendly Garden is now beginning to show it’s potential.

Last year I bought some Lavender Hidcote plugplants – they cost £15 for around 150 plants! I potted them up and grew them on and planted them out last autumn. Here are a few pictures:

My daughter and I came up with a design! More details about this plan will come later!

Here we are today! The lavender has really grown in just a few months and looks stunning – it is also attracting a large number of bees, hoverflies, butterflies and other insects. Last year the garden felt lifeless – there were so few flowers and very few insects. Today it is an absolute pleasure to go out and hear the ‘buzz’ of insects and the garden feels alive.
